Janet Marie Safris Janet Marie Safris is a local Des Moines artist who's work is greatly influenced by her natural surroundings. The fluidity of oils allows her to build rich textures and colors often emulating the nuances of nature and wildlife. Janet is very energetic and she emerses herself into her work, creating large atmospheric paintings with compelling surfaces that becon the viewer to touch. Texture and color are often incorporated into her work to achieve a heavy earthy character, but the effect is often conveyed with a sense of lightness and movement that lures the "mind's eye" into the picture plane.
